5 things I loved in September

This is going to be the first in a series of monthly posts about the things I loved during a particular month. This could be anything from recipes to products to movies and more! Let me know what YOUR favourites are, too!

1. The Couple Next Door, by Shari Lapena

This was an amazing book. Absolutely thrilling! I finished it a couple of weeks ago, and it has stuck with me ever since. Read my detailed review here. If you read one book this fall, read this please!

2. Designated Survivor

I always look forward to the new crop of TV shows each fall, and this one was at the top of my list all summer. Every time i saw a commercial for it, I couldn't wait to watch this one. It has not disappointed. Kiefer Sutherland is awesome as the lead in this show, and the rest of the cast does as spectacular job, too. It's my must-see show right now! Every Wednesday night, you'll find me watching Designated Survivor.

3. Pelikan Box

This subscription box was sent to me for review (read my review here). It was awesome! The reason I picked this one to feature this month is that I love the idea of sending a care package like this to someone you love who is away at school. As a parent, I know how hard it is to be away from your child, and i think the chance to send a box of goodies like Pelikan Box would be so great!

4. Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser

OK, I know I am super late to the party on this one. This is not a new product by any means, but I recently decided to try out Maybelline's Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. I didn't believe the hype about such things as this, as I am not a huge makeup person, but when I spotted it at Dollarama, I thought what the heck? I'll give it a whirl. I'm glad I did! This not only blurs the look of my pores but it also helps my foundation go on -- and stay on -- better. I have oily skin and this did not make my face feel greasy at all, and in fact it seemed to help mattify my face. My only regret is that I didn't grab two tubes when I saw it, because you know how it is with things at the dollar store!

5. Weelicious.com

This is my current favourite website for recipes. From first meals to family meals and school lunches, this wildly popular website has it all. They even have weekly menu plans! Weelicious was started by Catherine McCord. Originally started as a blog (which was the winner of the Babble Best Mom Cooking Blog of the year, by the way) Weelicious has now morphed into a phenomenon! McCord has appeared on countless big-name TV shows and she is the author of two family cookbooks, One Family, One Meal, and Weelicious Lunches. I have the latter of these two, and absolutely love it. Make the Spinach Cake Muffins -- you'll thank me).

So there you have it: 5 things I loved in September. What did you love? Got any recommendations? Let me know!
